Rob Curran graduated Georgetown University in Washington D.C., in 1984 with a Bachelor’s degree and earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C., in 1987. After passing the New York and New Jersey bar exams in July 1987 Rob began practicing law at Olwine, Connelly, Chase, O’Donnell & Weyher, a large Park Avenue law firm in New York City.
In 1990, Rob left New York City to start a litigation law firm Curran & Curran, in partnership with his father, Robert D. Curran, Sr. from 1990 to 2001. During that time, they engaged in all aspects of litigation practice, focusing primarily on personal injury matters. They represented the victims of others negligence as well as representing insurance carriers defending against personal injury claims.
Rob’s experience having been on both sides of the fence gives his clients a significant edge in litigation. This vast experience as a defense attorney means that Rob knows what it’s like to be on the other side, and can anticipate the defenses that the insurance company lawyers will use and the strategies and means that they will employ.
Rob served as a municipal court judge from 1997 to 2000 in a very high-volume municipal court. This experience has given him the additional and highly important edge of seeing things from the judge’s perspective in addition to both the defense attorney’s perspective when preparing and strategizing cases he brings to trial.
In search of a simpler lifestyle, Rob sat for and passed the Missouri Bar in 2001 and moved his young family to Southwest Missouri. During this time,Rob has strengthened his expertise in Personal Injury and Employment/Wage discrimination over the past 2 decades in Missouri through advanced trial education.
Rob is a graduate of the prestigious Gerry Spence Trial Attorney College. This is a month-long intensive designed to teach the methods and techniques of one of the greatest trial attorneys in the United States. This training is available only to trial attorneys who represent individuals.
As a graduate and faculty member of the Keenan Trial Institute, Rob educates other attorneys on how to be a successful trial attorney. Too many attorneys settle client cases with insurance companies without ever going to trial. Insurance companies are well-acquainted with which attorneys are intimidated by the prospect of trial, and offer them far less than attorneys who will actually try cases.
Rob Curran has been repeatedly selected as a “Super Lawyer”, an exclusive group of top-rated attorneys chosen after thorough evaluation of numerous criteria through a multiphase process. Only the top five percent of each state’s attorneys across the United States are selected. A Super Lawyer designation is a very meaningful and difficult to obtain honor and distinction.
Rob has been married for over three decades, and he and his wife Julia are thrilled to have four wonderful children and their first grandchild.
